Her hips seem to be oddly shaped, almost masculine, or too long, or something. I could just be imagining it though. The pencil work is amazing, I love all the variation in width and value, it really makes for some wonderful contrasts in texture, like in the detail in the hairline to the sparce lines in the face. Just beautiful to look at.

Hey this is awesome - love the coloured version too.
Just wondering, I've seen some pretty lineart isolation techniques. Which did you use for this one?

Hmm...i never really isolate the lineart so to speak. Once i got it scanned, I painted watercolour over it in Painter...hmm...on different layer.

a i c - a painter trick *nod*
I'm thinking in Photoshop lol, where it's harder to paint over a layer unless you use multiply, and in that case, you can never expect to colours to come out how they seem and such and such.
I've really gotta install my Painter Classic...

Great drawing too! I have a question for it, tho. What we are seeing here, is it in the same scale as the paper, or has it been scaled down to be seen onn the web?

scaled down yup. the original size is 2500w x 3300h. I like to work on bigger file, so that the details look better when scaled down. Besides i also like to print my works out, so i gotta make sure my arts are good enough for larger output.

Thanks Artgerm: ive been trying to figure these things out. With printing purpose in mind as well. Its been just a while now since i first made a try on vector (flash) plus airbrushing (photoshop), using wider dimensions like those. you can see it [link] , if you like. those dimensions are for display on the web here on DA. Original is a lot bigger, and it was quite a pain since ive done it with 256mb of RAM on my laptop. So as reading from your posts and as you exchange quite between freehand, painter and photoshop, you might need a lot of RAM. How much do you have? and if you excuse me another question: in painter or photoshop... do you use a tablet for coloring with the various brushes and tools? Cause, I still use mouse for brushing for years, but as designs get wider in pixel i think using a mouse is unbearable.

What is your opinion?

Creating vector artwork on flash is painful to me, cos flash is not meant for print production (first of all it is not CMYK). Therefore u will encounter some problems bringing the vector from flash to photoshop. I always use freehand to create my vector works, it is far more precise and clean. I will have total control with things and excellent print capability, such as assigning Pantone colours. Export vector from freehand to photoshop is a breeze, just copy and paste and u will be able to set the document as big as u like in photoshop.

I am running on 1gb ram, knowing that it will save my life whenever i work on huge files. I am using wacom tablet on all 3 programs (even freehand), for many years. I can assure u that it is the best investment for all digital artists and designers. Get one and u will treasure it for life. :)

1gb RAM. I really can imagine it might give me a boost. You are right because with my ram its even difficult to manage having to heavy programs like flash and photoshop. I also believe flash for vectors is not the best, but i only started with it because of some background on making flash stuff.
Ill also going to consider the wacom tablet. Thanks very much for the tips!

wow . the sketch is just :wow: I agree with ~ Nytemare19 . it would be interesting to see how many different people you could get to color it differently =D I would probably go for an alternate costume color from Marvel vs Capcom 2 :XD:

Would be cool to see how many different colorings you could get people to do with this lineart.
